Michelle is a marketing mentor, trainer and speaker who specialises in supporting women in business; particularly those with small and micro businesses.
She started her entrepreneurial journey aged just 24 (when Facebook didn’t exist!) with an award winning gift shop, before returning to be a business start-up coach for Durham Council. After four years of employment she returned to working for herself and her marketing business, Custard and Bear, celebrates its eighth birthday in 2019.
Michelle has supported hundreds of businesses to start and market themselves, building solid relationships and connections across the North East.
In 2016 Michelle self-published the #FacebookThirty Workbook to help people use Facebook more creatively and consistently when marketing their business. She is currently working on the second edition which will be full of real-life examples of brilliant social media practice from here in the North East.
Marketing is incredibly important to Michelle; she believes that it is the heart beat of any business. She teaches that by being consistent, telling stories and using emotion businesses can create impactful on and offline marketing which stands outs and generates attention.
She is the parent of two Autistic children and and in 2019 she will launch her online membership business Ausome Business Mums. She will be supporting parents of Autistic children to develop flexible businesses around their children. This will be a 100% digital business and Michelle will be tracking every stage of her journey with her members.
